Stolen Throne Cigars are a boutique cigar company that have been taken over the cigar community by storm in recent years. Their heavier bodied cigars and bold flavor profiles provide an unforgettable smoking experience. Their dark age-style gives off an ominously badass vibe, and definitely draws the attention of any cigar smoker. This review will be about the Stolen Throne Call To Arms Robusto. After reading this review, consider smoking it, or adding it to you home humidor and let it age.

The Call To Arms presents itself with the same gothic style as the others by the company. A bundle of the Call To Arms is wrapped in red tissue paper, with a black wax stamp holding everything together. It definitely gives off a very dark apothecarian feel, and draws the eye very well. The band on the cigar is a monotone gray, with a lot of detail. While it doesn't keep the black and red motif of its packaging, it does still give a unique presentation. If you see the Call To Arms cigar in your local brick and mortar, chances are you'll see the cigars displayed in a unique, burnt wood display box, which hints at the cigar's flavor profile. The wrapper is medium brown, and a little oily. There are subtle veins on the cigar, but is smooth for the most part. The wrapper extends beyond the foot, and wraps around it.

The Call To Arms has a truly wonderful construction. Nicaraguan Binder and Filler, wrapped in a Sumatra Wrapper gives the cigar a lot of opportunity to have a great flavor profile. After cutting the cigar, the cold draw proves to give hints at the flavor profile, and shows that the cigar has a smooth draw, but not too loose to hinder the flavor notes. The cigar lights easy, and burns at an even pace. There are no issues with tunneling or canoeing, promoting a great smoking experience. A good amount of smoke is produced with every draw, and that stays true throughout the entire smoke. The ash is a medium gray, and cools the cigar nicely. However, be careful since the ash will fall at around the one inch mark, so make sure your ash tray is close by. Once the cigar is ashed, the are no flakes of ash flying off, so your black shirt will be perfectly safe.

The flavor profile is unique and absolutely delicious. It's hard to explain, but parts of the cigar remind me of a bonfire in October, so this will be a great cigar for Spooky Season. The cigar starts with notes of cream and light vanilla, with almond and cedar undertones. The first retrohale gives notes of red pepper and dark roasted coffee. As you smoke, you'll pick up notes of black pepper, and a buttery undertone. Stronger notes of almond and cashew become more prominent about halfway through, along with a stronger dark roast coffee aroma on the retrohale. The creamy and vanilla notes become more subtle, while notes of leather and cedar come into play. The retrohale sticks with the coffee and red pepper notes, with an addition of a cedar aroma. As the cigar comes to an end, black pepper notes become more prominent with the almond and cashew flavors. A mild toffee aftertaste also pops up, but goes away as quickly as it came in. The cigar ends with notes of butter, almond, black pepper, and coffee.

The Call To Arms Robusto is priced at around $10.00 per stick, and $200.00 for a bundle of 20. Given the great flavor profile, wonderful construction, and gothic appearance, it's well worth the price. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by not smoking this cigar.
