Perdomo has been a major player in the cigar game since the cigar boom in the 1990s. Their newest cigar, the Legacy, was blended by Nicholas Perdomo III as a tribute to his father and CEO of Perdomo Cigars, Nicholas Perdomo, Jr. This is also the first cigar to use the Nicaraguan Shade Grown, which is a hybrid of Cuban Seed and Cameroon. Read the review, and consider smoking the Perdomo Legacy NSG Epicure the next time you go to your favorite cigar lounge.

The Legacy NSG has a very striking presentation. The has eye catching accents of gold, blue, and red, while still keeping the traditional motif of the Perdomo band used on their other cigars. There are also holographic accents on the band, which is a nice touch showing the uniqueness of the blend and the story behind it. The cigar itself in a medium brown. While it does have some veins showing, it is smooth to the touch.

The Legacy NSG is constructed with Nicaraguan Filler and Binder, and wrapped in a Nicaraguan Shade Grown Wrapper. This is the first time this type of tobacco is used in a cigar. The Nicaraguan Shade Grown is a hybrid leaf of Cuban Seed and Cameroon, bring the unique flavors of both together wonderfully. The draw is smooth and easy, allowing for an effortless smoking experience. The ash is sturdy and light-medium gray. The ash falls about halfway into the second third of the cigar. The cigar also has a great smoke output, giving off a nice aroma. The burn line is spectacular, needing no touchups throughout the smoke.

The flavor profile of the Legacy NSG is unique and memorable, and the flavors blend nicely together. The cold draw may provide notes of dried apricot, cedar, and toffee. The first light may provide notes of cedar, earth, and cashew, giving a good glimpse into the overall flavor profile.

The first third of the Legacy NSG may have upfront notes of earth and cashew, with accompanying notes of white pepper that hit the palate perfectly. There is also a subtle sweetness, eluding to flavors of dark brown sugar, as well as a note of vanilla bean that lingers temporarily. There may also be subtle notes of ginger and dry hay. The retrohale of the first third may have notes of toast, nougat, and light roast coffee.

The second third may have stronger notes of light roast coffee, with hints of white pepper. Subtle notes of toffee and cinnamon may also be tasted. The notes of cedar and earth linger on the palate as they take a backseat. There is also the lingering note of dry hay, which adds a nice level of depth to the smoke. The retrohale on the second third may have notes of toast, light roast coffee, and black pepper.

The final third may have the earthy notes come back to the forefront, along with lingering hints of white pepper. Undertones of ginger and nougat come and go. The notes of light roast coffee and brown sugar remain on the palate, while notes of cashew come back into play. The retrohale on the final third may have notes of light roast coffee, toast, and a stronger note of black pepper.

The Legacy NSG is priced reasonably. A single cigar can go for around $14.50, while a box of 24 can go for around $348.00. Considering the flavor profile alone, the cigar could easily go for $16.00. This is a delicious cigar, and perfect for any cigar smoker. While the veteran cigar smokers will appreciate it's flavor and construction, the newer cigar smokers will enjoy the dynamic flavor notes.
