Casa Carrillo announces the return of Battleborn for a second consecutive year, continuing its tribute to the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving others. With an entirely different blend for 2026 but the same unwavering dedication to service, sacrifice, and excellence, Battleborn Heroes honors military personnel, veterans, police officers, firefighters, and first responders who protect our freedoms and strengthen our communities.

Service takes many forms, but its foundation remains the same: a willingness to put others before oneself. Battleborn was created to recognize that spirit and pay tribute to those who answer the call when their country, their communities, and their fellow Americans need them most.

“Battleborn is about honoring the people who show up when others need them most,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III. “Whether you serve in the military, protect your community as a police officer or firefighter, or respond when someone is having the worst day of their life, that commitment deserves our respect. Bringing Battleborn back for a second year gives us another opportunity to recognize those individuals and show our appreciation for everything they do.”

A New Blend. The Same Dedication.

The 2026 edition, Battleborn Heroes, introduces a new blend while maintaining the spirit and purpose behind the original release. An African Cameroon wrapper covers dual binders from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, complemented by aged Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The 6 x 52 cigar delivers a rich, complex smoking experience defined by depth and character.

Limited to just 2,000 boxes of 21 cigars, this year's release incorporates a meaningful tribute into its presentation. The box count of 21 pays homage to the 21-gun salute, a longstanding military tradition associated with honoring distinguished individuals and commemorating significant occasions. This deliberate detail reinforces the respect and remembrance at the heart of Battleborn. Each box is individually numbered and includes a collectible Battleborn logo dog tag, further distinguishing this commemorative edition.

A Mission That Extends Beyond the Cigar

For Casa Carrillo, honoring those who serve means more than creating a commemorative blend. Through retailer partnerships and charitable initiatives, the company is committed to supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of veterans, military families, and first responders.

“Giving back has always been an important part of who we are as a company,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo. “Through Carrillo Cares, we have worked to support causes that make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Battleborn continues that commitment by recognizing the people who serve our country and communities, while helping support the organizations that stand behind them and their families.”

With more than 55 years of cigar-making experience, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo brings a lifetime of blending expertise to Battleborn. While the 2026 edition introduces a new blend, its purpose remains unchanged: to recognize the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of those who serve.

“I’ve spent 55 years making cigars, and every blend has a story,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III. “With Battleborn, the blend may change, but the message stays the same. It’s about service, sacrifice, and respect. We want those who serve our country and protect our communities to know that their dedication is recognized and appreciated.”
