Perdomo has been a major player in the cigar industry since the 1990s. Perdomo Cigars are known to provide great flavor profiles, unique blends, and a combination of elegance and ease. Their newest line, the Legacy, was blended by Nicholas Perdomo III for his father, Nick Perdomo, Jr. These cigars are meant to be a testament to the dedication and passion Nick Perdomo, Jr. has presented to the his family and the world of the cigars. This review is of the Legacy Connecticut. Give it a read, and consider the Perdomo Connecticut the next time you're in the mood for a cigar with you morning cup of coffee.

The presentation of the Legacy Connecticut is strikingly detailed and elegant. The band uses a black and gold color scheme, with red accents. The Perdomo seal is presented at the top of the band, and "Legacy" is boldly placed towards the bottom. The band also has a sparkling, holographic look to it. The band and box alike are detailed extraordinarily well, and provide an eye catching presentation. The cigar itself is a light brown color. While there are some veins that show throughout the body of the cigar, it is smooth to the touch. The cigar is a regular parejo.

The Legacy Connecticut is constructed with Nicaraguan Filler, Nicaraguan Shade Grown Binder, and Ecuadorian Connecticut Wrapper. The draw is smooth, but not too loose. This entices you to take your time with the smoke, and enjoy it. The ash is almost white, and falls just after the start of the second third. The burn line is a bit jagged at times, but no canoeing takes place throughout the smoke. The smoke output is moderate, giving a nice subtle aroma throughout the smoking experience.

The flavor profile of the Legacy Connecticut is consistent. There are no surprising or outrageous flavor notes that pop up. That being said, is does provide great flavor and aroma. The cold draw may provide notes of fig and brown sugar. The first light of the cigar may have notes of cream, nougat, and dry hay.

The first third of the cigar may provide front notes of earth and cream. These are accompanied by subtle notes of dry hay and toast, with hints of white pepper. There are also notes of nougat and coffee, which gives the smoke a sweeter taste. The retrohale of the first third may have notes of coffee, caramel, and cedar.

The second third of the cigar may provide front notes of caramel and coffee, with the earthy notes moving to the background. There is a creamy undertone, which is accompanied by notes of cedar. Notes of white pepper linger a bit more on the palate, along with a subtle hint of cocoa powder. The retrohale of the second third may have notes of coffee, white pepper, and caramel.

The final third of the cigar may have the earthy notes back at the forefront of the palate, along with stronger coffee notes. Caramel and cream can still be tasted, along with white pepper still prominent on the palate. Hints of dry hay and cashew also linger on the palate, which helps to even out the sweetness. The retrohale of the final third may have notes of caramel, coffee, and white pepper.

The Legacy Connecticut is priced well. Going for around $14.50 for a single cigar, and $348.00 for a box of 24, this cigar is priced competitively. Given the construction and the flavor profile, this cigar may be better suited in the $12.50-$13.00 price range. However, taking into account of the use of the Nicaraguan Shade Grown, the listed price makes perfect sense.

This is a great cigar for newer cigar smokers. It isn't so complex that it's intimidating, and it's not so consistent that it causes the palate to lose interest. While it's great for new cigar smokers, veteran cigar smokers will enjoy it for the elegant flavor and robust body.
